Thursday (4/8/2022), was a touching and memorable day for the entire academic community of FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. This institution had to let go of one of its experienced senior lecturers, Dr. dr. Herry Darsim Gaffar, M.Kes, who has entered retirement in August 2022. To appreciate his dedication during his service, FKIK UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held a Silaturrahim and Farewell Remembrance event at the Multipurpose Hall of the Ibnu Thufail Building. This event was attended by all Faculty Leaders, Study Programs, Lecturers and Staff of FKIK UIN Malang and took place in a simple but warm and familial manner.
Dr. Herry, as he is usually called, is a senior lecturer who has accompanied the FKIK UIN Malang since its inception. This lecturer, born in 1957, previously served as Head of the Health Office of Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. During his service at FKIK UIN Malang, he dedicated his knowledge and experience, especially in developing Hajj Medicine and Public Health. "As a senior lecturer, he is a patient person and loves to share. Every time I am with Dr. Herry, I always enjoy listening to him tell stories. That is something I will definitely always remember," said Dr. Dobby.
On this occasion, several representatives of lecturers and staff also conveyed their impressions and farewells to Dr. Herry. One of the lecturers, Dr. Riskiyah, also delivered a poem, though she couldn't hold back her tears. Happy retirement, doctor. May you be successful wherever you are. Amen.
